The Baggages Of The Past

All of us, having lived our lives, have our own personal histories, memories and pasts.

Each life has its ups and downs. Some of the memories are of good times while others are of the bad.

Some of the past experiences help define who we are today. They shape our perspective, our values and our sense of who we are now.

Some of us would rather forget the bad experiences of events in our lives. And mercifully, the passing of time has that effect of helping us to forget some of those bad memories.

However, there are some people who can never forget the bad experiences of their pasts. They carry these baggages with them everywhere they go.

And it colour the way that they behave today.

They cannot get past some of these bad experiences. They project "what ifs" of these bad memories into their current lives.

Because of this, some of them are afraid to take risks, afraid to live fully in the present today.

They are afraid that the end result will be the same - the same bad experiences, that they had experienced previously, will occur again.

Why? Why is there such a need to treat yourself with so little faith?

Have faith in yourself that you had learnt from your past experiences and that you have the wisdom to deal with the event so that you will come out better.

So, put down those heavy baggages and feel lighter. Let all of it go and be here now, living fully in the present...
